NAME: Seifer Almasy
CANON: Final Fantasy VIII
POINT IN CANON: Time Compression

APPEARANCE: Face (Because 1999 graphics are rough). Seifer is 6 feet tall, blond, and muscular. He most notably has a (relatively fresh) scar diagonally between his eyes.
CANON HISTORY: It's the Final Fantasy with time travel and a weird magic system involving memory eating supernatural beings.
CANON PERSONALITY: Canon sees Seifer at his worst, the already less than admirable qualities he has twisted to make him the agent of Ultimecia that the cycle of time demands him to be. Abition to cruelty, pride to full blown arrogance, rebelliousness to self destructive impulsivity. This is not to say that he was a good person to begin with, nor does it mean that he is wholly as horrible as he became under Ultimecia's twisted influence. He was simply fated to be the opposite to the hero that Squall was equally fated to be.
Seifer is, when it comes down to it, a bit of an asshole. He has a general disregard towards anyone claiming to be in charge without first earning his respect, and can fairly easily fall in to bullying people when he gets going. While trained as a mercenary soldier Seifer has a difficult time following orders or other people's plans, especially when he finds them inefficient or otherwise stupid. It doesn’t help anything that he’s been told repeatedly by those around him that the only way that he’ll be able to be ‘good’ is to stop questioning authority and taking initiative on situations.
When he’s not being a massive tool, Seifer does have a number of admirable qualities. He’s a capeable and fairly skilled commander, having commanded the entirety of Galbadia’s Garden and Military forces at the age of 18 with fair success. He has a distinct sense of honor and pride, being the first to applaud the successful SeeD graduates when he himself had failed for a third time. Seifer is also studious, having researched everything to do with Sorceresses and their Knights in order to pursue his dream of becoming a Knight as well as being able to pass Garden classes with enough proficiency to test for SeeD. He is also clearly capeable of being friendly and making friends, Fuijin and Raijin are as close to family has he has and he was able to both date Rinoa and make friends with her followers in Timber during a summer vacation.
Seifer’s biggest flaw is that he wants approval of others while simultaneously not wanting everyone in a place to give him such to get too close. While he doesn’t have the memories of his childhood, the emotional damage of being a war orphan who was never wanted and dumped in to a mercenary school as a child is still there. Seifer wants to be remembered, he wants to matter to more than just his friends.
Which brings us to Seifer’s Romantic Dream.
It is not romantic in the sense of a relationship or sweeping a partner off their feet. It is Romantic in the sense of the philosophical movement. Seifer dreamed of being a Sorceress Knight, reviving an old tradition in a modern time as well as being generally ruled by his instincts and sense of individuality. He enjoys researching history as well as magic, and believes that being a Hero is as equally important as the rest of things.
This dream, however, has been shattered by both getting everything he wanted and having it twisted in to something monstrous. Ultimecia had him torture someone he quite respected and even liked, as well as ordered him to fire missiles on Trabia Garden among more heinous crimes. While it is not entirely clear exactly how far Ultimecia’s influence went, it is more than implied that the person Seifer became towards the end of her influence was not the sort of person that Raiji and Fuijin considered their leader. They asked Squall and the others to put an end to him, because they couldn’t bring themselves to do so.
Seifer is at a crossroads of rock bottom, and can either (yet again) doubble down on being a Villain or turn himself around and make up for helping in nearly destroying the world.

ABILITIES:
Canon Seifer has all the training of a Balamb Garden SeeD. This includes mundane skills such as driving, armed/unarmed combat, history, politics, dancing and military strategy.
Seifer is specifically an expert with a gunblade, though he has training in other weaponry.
The most specialized skill that Seifer has is Para-Magic and Junctioning.
Junctioning is the use of a Guardian Force (GF) that allows the user to enhance their strength, speed and stamina as well as other attributes by magically bonding them to their chosen GF. It also allows them to use Para-Magic in combat as well as allowing the user to temporarily summon their GF to fight alongside them.
Prolonged use of GF's causese memory loss, of which Seifer already has.
Guardian Forces a magical/spiritual entity that functions as a Summon, there is great variety in what counts as a GF.
Para-Magic FFVIII's magic system, the user can draw magic from allies, enemies and 'draw points'. These spells can be stored for later use or used immediately.
Limit Break Seifer's limit break is unique in that he does not need to be in a desperate situation to use it. Called Fire Cross, there are three variations of it: No Mercy, Demon Slice and Bloodfest.

JUSTIFICATION: Lovers- Seifer puts a great importance on his personal beliefs and individual values. Including the Marseilles Tradition has Lovers make a lot of sense for what Seifer has fallen to.
Fortune - Seifer had a singular Fated destiny to be the bad guy in a literal time loop, now loose of it he can turn things around again. He’s also someone who takes advantage of sudden changes and windows of possibility.
Judgement - These are things Seifer needs more than things he already has, he’s made an absolute mess of things and while other people can certainly take charge he’s equally possible of taking charge of his own redemption going forward.
VETO: Death - got a character with him already!

You ever bite in to an apple that looks perfect but it turns out to be mush in your mouth but you’re so hungry you can’t help but keep eating it? It makes your stomach turn but you can’t stop eating because the alternative is starving.

I’m not gonna make some bullshit excuse, I chose to take that first bite when it was offered. It was better than being thrown in prison for kidnapping President Deling because Cid was an idiot and sent some rookies on a vague as hell mission with no timetable or plans.
But, yeah. Ultimeica’s… I couldn’t do anything but do what she wanted me to, no matter how horrible it was. She made me think it was right to… do what I did.
